Real Strawberry Shortcakes

So right after high school I spent a summer in Rochester NY doing the Hill Cumorah Pageant. It was awesome! One thing I discovered and fell in love with was real shortcakes!!! We would go to this little berry farm where they had shortcakes and you could pick your berry sauce and eat up with a dollop of ice cream! Pretty much heaven! So when we were throwing around food ideas for my sisters shower that would be amazing and not a lot of hassle while guests were there this was perfect! They were a HUGE hit everyone was so excited and LOVED them!

1/4 cup sugar

2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick® mix

1/2 cup milk

sugar for sprinkling

3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk, 3 tablespoons sugar and the butter until soft dough forms. On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by 6 spoonfuls.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Split warm shortcakes and top with desired toppings. (i.e. fresh strawberries and danish dessert(my favorite), or strawberries in sugar to create a natural sauce, whipped cream, chocolate ganache, etc.)
